Joaquín Ruiz's dance company was created in 1987 and he achieved his first international success acclaimed by critics and the audience in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo (Brazil). In 1991 he performed the show "Madrid Flamenco" at the International Festival in Rome, Europe. In 1995 he performed "Flamenco y Mediterráneo" for the first time during the International Dance Festival in Madrid and he started a tour throughout the main festivals and stages of Spain, Europe and Asia: "Festival de Otoño" in Madrid, "Festival Musicale del Mediterráneo" in Alassio (Genoa), "Etnofestival" in San Marino, "Todos os cantos do mundo" in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Cultural Centre in Belem, Lisbon, Pérez Galdós Theatre in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, "Philarmonie" in Munich. In 1998 he and his Company took part in the 10th International Dance Show, at the Albéniz Theatre in Madrid. In 1999 he performed the show "Mar de Tierras" for the first time at the Juan Bravo Theatre in Segovia and he performed the show at the Autumn Festival in Madrid at the Real Coliseo Carlos III in San Lorenzo del Escorial and at the Cervantes Theatre in Alcalá de Henares. The same show was performed by the dance company at the Festivals celebrated on 2nd May at the Albéniz Theatre in Madrid and in 2001 he started a tour to Germany and Austria at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Musikhalle in Hamburg and the Konzerthause in Freiburg. In the same year he took part in the Festival "Gesti Contemporanei" at Teatro Stabile di Catania (Italy). |
